Good Dog, Carl : A Classic Board Book by Alexandra Day
Good Dog, Carl : A Classic Board Book by Alexandra Day is At first glance I thought this was a weird book because it has no words, and it's about a dog that is left alone with a baby. There are so many things that are "scary"/"weird" to me as a new mom (such as dog tossing the baby in the laundry chute). But as I got to "reading" (narrating in my own words) the story with my little girl, I found it very enjoyable to laugh about what they were doing. And the more I read it to her, the more I see things I didn't see before... little details. It really opened my eyes to a new experience with my daughter and this has become one of our favorite books.
Good Dog, Carl : A Classic Board Book by Alexandra Day is I purchased the board book version for my almost 16 month old son. This is a great book, there are only words at the very beginning and end of the book so the story on each page really depends on your imagination. All of the Good Dog, Carl books are wordless for the most part which I enjoy but other parents may not. This is a classic book series of a child, a babysitting dog, and their adventures together. My son enjoys flipping through this book on his own and I enjoy pointing to the pages and telling my son about their silly adventures. I recommend these for anyone and plan on getting my son the entire series.
Good Dog, Carl : A Classic Board Book by Alexandra Day is My kids are adults now, but there is a new wave of kids coming into our family now. When my kids were little the Alexandra Day, "Carl" books were some of their favorites, along with mine. The appealing part to the kids is that the story is Never the same, since whoever is reading it is making it up. You really can't go wrong with a Carl story.
Good Dog, Carl : A Classic Board Book by Alexandra Day is This is ONE OF THE TOP books my boys grew up with: 6 Dinner Sid & Goodnight Moon are the other two! My boys loved all animals & this fit in with their vision of smart, adoring, caring & loveable animals! HIGHLY recommend this book to all children!!!!It's great for the little ones - beautifully illustrated, hard cardboard, fits small hands & allows children of all ages to use their imaginations to tell the story themselves! Each of my sons "read" the book differently - & would read to each other their version nightly for years! My youngest is 21 & just read it again! We are giving a copy to a great friend with a 2 year old and a new one on the way! Love to share the reading! (PS my sons are 25 - finished his Masters - & 21 - working on his Masters - & still are avid readers!!!!)
